Butterfly Flourish

This week over at Less is Moore, the ladies have given us a fabulous sketch to work with.

This year, apart from trying not to buy any new stash I have decided to try and get to grips with inking.  I have always found this difficult.  So, I sat down this morning with a pile of  inkpads and a new pack of Cut-n-Dry foam.  Nearly three hours later and lots of bits of card in the bin, I gave up on the Cut-n-Dry and got out my trusty Judikins Ink Dusters, the inking doesn't seem as smooth with these and I will keep trying with the foam.  I used Spiced Marmalade and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks and the stamp is from a Chocolate Baroque unmounted plate - Butterfly Flourish Swirls, the sentiment is from an acrylic set by Hobby Art

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit today.

  6. This looks fabulous Beryl... terrific inking! I find that daubers work well with some cardstock and dusters work better with others!

  14. Lovely work Beryl. I do think it is often down to the quality of the paper we use. Sometimes, even when the best is bought - we hit on a bad batch! Keep persevering as it is certainly worth it.

  15. Beautiful card Beryl. I have the Inkylicious dusters and they seem to work fine for me, I used them on my card this week. Well done on the NY resolution, I failed several times already due to "bargains" but convinced myself no more now....

  22. Hi Beryl, love the effect you created with the dusters and sensational colours too. I saw these on C&C today but they are pricey so I use cut n dry! I agree with other commenters that the quality of paper has a bearing on the effect. I got your 2nd comment, thanks.

  38. This is gorgeous Beryl and I think the dusters have given a great effect! When I'm sponging a large area I just use chopped up bits of sponge - you know, the kind you get from pound shops for cleaning cards; I find they work pretty well. Vicky x
