My Love is like a Red, Red Rose

Good Evening, my card for today is for Rainbow Lady's Challenge which this week is anything Scottish.  I have gone for a famous poem by the great man himself, Rabbie Burns.   The image is from Chocolate Baroque.  I used chalks to start with for the rose and leaves, it was OK but it seemed a bit blotchy, so I used a red crayon and did some shading and blending.  To finish off  I got out an inkduster and inked around the image with a chalk inkpad.  The backing paper is a freebe from the very generous and extremely talented Jak Heath.  The cuttlebugged strip, ribbon and flowers are all from my stash.  The sentiment is computer generated.

I am also entering my card into Challenge 80 over at Sketch N Stash, - a free choice sketch,  pick any sketch
from their back catalogue and display it.  I have gone for Sketch No.40,  My old stash is the stamp and new is the white flower and the free paper from Jak, it has been in a file since before Christmas this is the first time I have used it
 Many thanks for visiting today

Tag You're It

Well it's Sunday so it's time for another challenge over at CD Sunday - Tag You're It the team would like to see a tag somewhere on your design.  I'm feeling a bit sad though because this is my last challenge at Guest Designer.  I have had a wonderful time and would like to say a huge Thank You to the ladies on the Team for inviting me to join them for  a short spell.

For my card I have, for the second time in just a few days, turned to Joanna Sheen's  From the Heart of the Garden cd.  I took the matching backing paper into Craft Artist to lighten  it a couple of shades.  The embossed card is from my stash as are the pearl brads used to attach the tags and flower.  I sprayed the flower with Silver Sparkle spray, but it doesn't really show up in the pic.  The leaves were punched from scraps as were the tags, the sentiment was computer generated.  Sorry about the glare from the silver mirri

Thank you very much for taking the time to visit today

Butterfly Flourish

This week over at Less is Moore, the ladies have given us a fabulous sketch to work with.

This year, apart from trying not to buy any new stash I have decided to try and get to grips with inking.  I have always found this difficult.  So, I sat down this morning with a pile of  inkpads and a new pack of Cut-n-Dry foam.  Nearly three hours later and lots of bits of card in the bin, I gave up on the Cut-n-Dry and got out my trusty Judikins Ink Dusters, the inking doesn't seem as smooth with these and I will keep trying with the foam.  I used Spiced Marmalade and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks and the stamp is from a Chocolate Baroque unmounted plate - Butterfly Flourish Swirls, the sentiment is from an acrylic set by Hobby Art

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit today.

Something New

Good Afternoon, it's horrible here in the Northern Isles today - dark, wet and windy.  Just the sort of day to do some crafting.  My card is for CraftyAnn'sChalleng Blog - What's New Pussycat, requiring something new on your card a technique or new stash.  Mine is stash, but I have been very good and still haven't bought any new stash yet this year  - mind you it is still only January lol. The images and backing paper are from Joanna Sheen's From the Heart of the Garden CD which I bought last year when it was launched.  Today, I finally took off the shrink wrap and had a look at it!!!  The butterflies are from a cut and emboss Cuttlebug set, the gems are from my stash.
I am also entering my card into the Ooh La La Challenge - Seeing Double - use two images the same.

Thanks you very much for visiting today

Happy Chinese New Year

Good Morning, my card today is for Rainbow Lady's Challenge - The Year Of The Dragon.   The image is from an unmounted plate by Chocolate Baroque, the strip was made using a Judikins cube. I stamped everything with Versamark and embossed with WOW Gold Sparkle embossing powder.  The sentiment is from an old SeeDees set and going by the image in the box I think it says Happy New Year, but am not too sure.  The tassel and coin both come from my stash.  I suppose really I should have used red and gold, as  I think red in China is considered lucky, but I didn't have any red card in my offcuts box.

I am also entering my card into Pixie's Crafty Snippets Challenge as all the pieces of black and gold card came from my off cuts box.

A Sting In The Tail

Good Morning, it's Sunday and that means it's time for a new challenge over at CD Sunday.  This week the ladies have chosen Zodiac as the theme.  I struggled with this one, I searched online for images but couldn't find anything that I liked.  So, out came Joanna Sheen's Enchanted Dreams again.  I have gone with the image for Scorpio as this is my Mum's birth sign.  I didn't use the matching paper this time and have used a freebie download from Craft Creations.  The flowers and gems are from my stash and the punched border is from a bit of card in my scrap box.

Thank you for visiting today,

Butterfly Dreams

Good Afternoon everyone.  Firstly I would like to say a big Thank You  for all of your good wishes recently.  I am beginning to feel a lot better and the dizzy spells are nowhere near as bad as they have been.

So, on to today's card.  It's Less is More time again and this week the challenge is Cut it Out - to make an aperture or some kind of hole on our cards.  I used an octagonal nestie for mine and also my Marianne Creatables gorgeous Butterfly Die.  I started by cutting out a white butterfly and then I got out my craft iron to melt some Angelina Fibres together and cut a second butterfly from this.  I used wet glue to stick the two butterflies together and then my quickie glue pen to attach the wings of  the base to my card.  The picture doesn't show it very well but the fibre butterfly really sparkles in real life.  The sentiment is computer generated and printed directly onto the card.

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you like my card.

A Little Bird Told Me

Good Morning, sorry once again for my lack of  blogging and posting,  still feeling rubbish and to top that off my Labrynthitis/Vertigo is back and my doctor won't give me any of the lovely pills that help until I have seen the ENT people.

Anyway, I did manage to make a Less is More Challenge card yesterday, this week Chrissie and Mandi have asked for a One Layer Card and the theme is Birds.  I looked out my old Kingfisher stamp by Peronal Impressions, stamped onto watercolour card with Ranger Black Archival ink and then coloured with watercolour pencils and a waterbrush.  I am not overly happy with it, but was not up to redoing it.

Thank you so much for visiting and  your continual wonderful comments and support

Sweet Dreams

Good Morning, well it's Sunday again and time for the CD Sunday Challenge, this week the theme is Enchantment.  For Me there is only one CD for this challenge and that is Joanna Sheen's Enchanted Dreams.
I have used the matching backing paper for this design twice, one in the original colour and the other one has been lightened, I Cuttlebugged a piece of co-ordinating card, added two silk flowers with punched leaves and secured with a pearl headed brad.  The ribbon and small gems are from my stash and the sentiment is computer generated.

I am also entering my card into Rainbow Lady's Challenge - The Many Faces of Woman, and I hope a couple of the colours will count for CraftyAnn's Challenge - Let's Think Hot

Many thanks for visiting today, and I also have to aplogise for being a bad blogger so far this year.  I seem to have lost my mojo and have not really picked up properly after not not being very well at Christmas.

Under The Sea

Good Morning, well it's Sunday again and time for the CD Sunday Challenge.  This week the theme is Sea Life.   I have used an image from the first Jane Netley Mayhew cd from Joanna Sheen and teamed it with a patterned backing paper from Cuddly Buddly and a piece of matching plain paper that I put through the Cuttlebug.  I decided to go with the shell image as I remembered the bag of shells that I bought at my local craft shop ages ago and yep this is the first time I have used any of them!  The sentiment is computer generated.

I hope you can all come and joing us again this week, and many thanks for visiting my blog today.

The Colour Purple

Good Afternoon,  today's card is for this week's Less is More Challenge - Predominately Purple.  The image is one from a Creative Expressions unmounted sheet that hasn't seen the light of day for a very long time.  I used Adirondack Eggplant to stamp the image and worked  Milled Lavender Distress Ink all over it, then  matted onto some white and purple scraps.

I am also entering my card into Rainbow Lady's Challenge - Travel Through Time

I hope you like my card and many thanks for visiting.

Happy New Year

Hi everyone, I am sorry to have been absent for so long, but I haven't been well over Christmas.  I had the flu and now I have an ear infection, so am a bit cheesed off.  Anyhow we are now into 2012 and hopefully things will improve from now on.  So, onto this week's Guest Designer card for CD Sunday.  The challenge this week is O for the Olympics.   We are being sponsored this week by Sharon Duncan.

I have chosen Rowing as my Olympic Sport, the image is from Joanna Sheen's Nostalgia cd, the backing paper is from Sharon Duncans Elegance Embossabilities cd, the cardstock is from my stash and I have finished off with Card Candy.

I don't usually make new year resolutions but I have decided that this year I must stop buying crafting goodies and must unearth some of my long lost forgotten stash.  Whilst packing up my craft stuff for the Christmas period I came a across stuff  that was still in it's original wapping, incuding stamps that have never seen any ink!

Once again a Happy New Year to each and everyone of you
