Well, here I go again only just getting my card finished hours before the challenge closes - and this one is a two weekly one! The challenge in question is Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog where she asks us to show our creativity by doing something outwith of our comfort zone, a new technique or something we may struggle with. As soon as I saw the challenge two weeks ago I decided to finally get around to making a side step card. I got the instructions from a forum member ages ago and apart from making it up in cheap card to see how it worked I haven't done anything else with it. Until today. I think maybe I should have decided what images I wanted to use instead of picking the colour first, because it has taken me ages to decide how to decorate it. The image is a rubber stamp that I got in a grab bag on ebay a good while ago, stamped in Stazon and coloured with my Copics. The bp are Cuddly Buddly (surprise, surprise!), the other cardstock is from my stash. The rose spray is from Joanna Sheen and the text and butterflies are all Cuttlebug cut and emboss sets. I am quite pleased with the result, but have only just noticed that I have smeared the glue under the rose.
I hope you like my card and thank you very much for dropping by today

ReplyDeleteI think this is gorgeous Beryl - I still haven't made one of these and it sounds like you stepped out of your comfort zone in more than one way! Well done you and I'm glad you made it, skin of your teeth or not :)

Beautiful card Bery, I still have this style to try. How funny that you have Cuttlebug Butterflies Dies on your card as Anne & I were discussing this when we met for lunch today. I admitted that although I had this set, as yet I hadn't tried them. Anne said I should use them when I got back home.
ReplyDeleteWell done for stepping outside your comfort zone.

Beryl, I've got a day off tomorrow so having a bit of a trawl on blog world whilst I've got a man outside trying to mend our car. I couldn't seem to find a link on the Challenge Blog so am putting this direct onto your blog.
ReplyDeleteWell, you've beaten me. I've actually got a template as well for a side-step card but got no further than that. I know you struggling with what to put on it but I think it's worked out perfectly in the end and the flower spray looks very at home on there.
Thank you for taking the time to enter this into the Crafty Ann's Challenge this fortnight. I was lucky enough to be a Guest Designer this month so I am looking at all the lovely creations and seeing how others interpreted the challenge.
Take care and my best wishes, Kym xxx
