My card today is for CraftyAnn's Challenge Blog, which is If Music be the Food of Love, with the option of using Food, Music or Love. I decided to go with music. The image is one of CrafyAnn's digistamps coloured with Promarkers and then sprayed with Crafter's Companion Spray and Shine. I gave it about four coats to get a glossy look to the guitar. The sheet music, which is stuck to an old cd is from Google. The music notes and circular tags are cuttlebug dies and I cut them out with gunmetal MirriSilk card. The backing paper is from one of Sharon Duncan's Embossibilities cds, the sentiments were computer generated.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog and for any comments you may wish to make. Beryl x
ps I have just been to link my card to the challenge and noticed that I have used the exact same image and very similar idea to the card made Kym, a GD for this challenge. I didn't take much notice of the DT cards when I wrote the challenge down last week. I would just like to say that in all honesty I didn't copy Kym's card.
This is wonderful Beryl! Thanks for joining the CACB this time!
ReplyDeleteWell!! Beryl, it is gorgeous and only similar to Kym's card.
ReplyDeleteYou have achieved quite a different look.

I love this card and that image would be perfect for a card for my son, I love the way you have used the cd too.

This is fab Beryl. Fantastic work as usual. Cathy xxxx
ReplyDeleteI love this Beryl. Great way to use the cd. The only time I tried using one I tried to colour it with inks and couldn't get it to stick. This looks great and the shiny guitar too. Must try to get some of that spray and shine soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in Crafy Ann's challenge.

A fantastic card Beryl. I love the layout of it .xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a cracker Beryl! Great that it is so personalised, it makes the card so special!

Love the look of this Beryl and it didn't register as being similar to Kym's at all.
ReplyDeleteLove the black and white look with that gorgeous red guitar, it creates such a strong impact!
Thanks for joining in with Crafty Ann's Challenge again.
Ooooooooooh - this is wonderful Beryl and I didn't think for one minute that you'd copied Kym's card. I love the sheen on the guitar and the way you've brought it all together fabulous work.

Beryl, what a lovely card, Don't worry about using a CD and guitar like mine. Even if we had been given the same papers/other items to use we'd never come up with totally all the same. When I saw yours I said why didn't I use music paper instead of alcohol inks? I hadn't thought of this. This is where we all grow and learn in cardmaking and you haven't upset me in any way whatsoever - we've had too many comments on each others' blogs for anything like that to happen anyway.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to enter this into the Crafty Ann's Challenge this fortnight. I was lucky enough to be a Guest Designer this month so I am looking at all the lovely creations and seeing how others interpreted the challenge.
Take care and my best wishes, Kym xxx
